Plumber in Donabate

Donabate is one of the youngest towns around Swords: 85% of its homes date from 1991 or later and 688 were built in 2016 or after. 30% heat with electricity, against 9.1% in Swords (CSO Census 2022, our comparison). What we checked:

• Donabate had 9,669 people and 3,157 households at the 2022 census. 83% of households live in a house or bungalow and 17% in a flat or apartment (CSO Census 2022, small area statistics).
• 85% of its homes were built in 1991 or later and 3.0% before 1971; 1.0% date from before 1919 (CSO Census 2022, small area statistics).
• 62% of homes heat with natural gas, 5.5% with oil and 30% with electricity (CSO Census 2022, small area statistics).
• Its water comes through Uisce Éireann's Fingal Zone 1 supply zone, which tests at a median 198 mg/l of calcium carbonate, moderately hard on Meath County Council's scale (Uisce Éireann hardness results, 2022–2025, scale).
• Inside the CSO's settlement boundary for Donabate, 141 new homes were completed from 2021 to 2025 (CSO new dwelling completions by settlement (NDA06)). The boundary was drawn after the 2016 census, so estates built on the edge since then may fall outside it.
• Uisce Éireann has replaced about 1.3 km of water mains on New Road, from the R126 to the Corballis roundabout, because the old pipes were prone to bursts and leaks. The project page lists it as completed (Uisce Éireann).
• Those works started on 23 March 2026 and included new service connections from the main in the road up to each property's boundary (Uisce Éireann).
• Donabate Eircodes start with K36, the same routing key as Malahide (Eircode list).

A new service pipe stops at your boundary: from there in, the pipes are yours (Uisce Éireann). In a house from the 1990s or later, the usual jobs are a shower pump, a cylinder thermostat or an immersion element, and in an electrically heated home, the hot water cylinder and its controls.
