Emergency plumber in Swords

Burst pipe, water through the ceiling or a toilet overflowing? Turn off the water first. Then send the job and we pass it to one local plumber who covers your area.

Do this first

  1. Turn off the water at the stopcock. It's usually under the kitchen sink. Turn it clockwise until it stops.
  2. Keep clear of electrics. If water is near sockets, lights or the fuse board, don't touch them. Only switch off at the fuse board if you can reach it from somewhere dry.
  3. If it's hot water, switch off the boiler and the immersion. That stops the heating pumping more water through a leak.
  4. Open the cold taps. With the stopcock off, this drains the water left in the pipes.
  5. Catch what you can and take photos. Buckets, towels, move things out of the way. Photos help with an insurance claim.

Smell gas? That isn't a plumbing job. Get everyone out, don't use light switches, and ring Gas Networks Ireland's emergency line from outside.

Send the job to a local plumber

Four quick steps. Free to send, no obligation.

What's the job?

Plumber Swords is an introduction service, not a plumbing company. One local plumber gets your request and deals with you directly. Gas and boiler work is only done by RGI-registered installers.

What counts as an emergency

Ring a plumber now

  • A burst pipe, or a leak you can't stop
  • Water coming through a ceiling, or near electrics
  • A toilet or drain backing up into the house
  • Your only toilet is blocked or won't flush
  • No water at all. Check whether the neighbours have water first: it may be the supply, not your pipes

Usually fine to wait for weekday rates

  • A dripping tap or a running cistern
  • A slow sink or shower drain
  • A shower with weak pressure
  • One radiator that won't heat up

Questions people ask

How much is an emergency plumber in Swords?

Emergency and out-of-hours work costs more. On the rate cards we found, an emergency or out-of-hours call-out costs €136–€284 with VAT (three plumbers), and evening, weekend and night labour runs €115–€260 an hour with VAT (two plumbers). In Swords, The Dublin Plumber charges €120 an hour on weekdays and up to €260 an hour at night, including VAT (source).

How fast will a plumber come?

We don't promise a time. We pass your request to one local plumber who covers your area, and the plumber contacts you to talk through the job and when they can come. If it's urgent, pick "Today" in the form so they know. If water is leaking, turn it off at the stopcock while you wait.

Where is my stopcock?

In most houses it's under the kitchen sink, where the mains water comes in. Turn it clockwise to close it. Find it now, before you need it.

Is a broken boiler a plumbing emergency?

If the boiler is gas, only an RGI-registered installer may work on it. By law, nobody else can do gas work in your home (CRU). If your job involves the gas boiler or a gas pipe, the person who comes out must be RGI-registered. You can check anyone on rgi.ie.
